Addition of Siblings in St. Kitts CIP Applications

The St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment program is renowned for being the oldest and one of the most well-established and respectable in the world for foreign, high-net-worth individuals seeking a second citizenship.

The global pandemic and its effects have led investors to seek new avenues of security through citizenship acquisition across the world this year. Over the decades, St. Kitts and Nevis has continued to improve its CIP. With its substantial 36 years of experience in the industry and recently published opportunities, it actively seeks to continue strengthening its success.

Following the publication of Saint Kitts and Nevis’ CBI COVID-19 Discount earlier this year, the Citizenship by Investment Unit of St. Kitts and Nevis has now announced additional guidelines which allow all new investors to include their siblings and their spouse’s siblings in applications to its Citizenship by Investment program. The new guidelines were announced on the 6th of November 2020, with immediate effect.

The Caribbean nation has made it more simple and profitable for wealthy individuals to invest in the country - in return for security by obtaining second citizenship during the current economic hardship.

St. Kitts and Nevis - Putting Family First

Investors who are seeking second citizenship, also tend to seek business and travel benefits, and security, both for themselves and the future of their family. Multiple Citizenship by Investment programs around the world have been progressively modifying their measures to be inclusive of family members.

Following Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Dominica, and St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis has now become the fifth Caribbean country to include siblings to its new CIP applications. St. Kitts now grants applicants the ability to add their spouse, minor and adult children, parents, grandparents, and siblings.

Unfortunately, investors who have already applied and successfully obtained St. Kitts citizenship under this program will not be able to add their dependent siblings at this time. Alternatively, siblings can apply for citizenship themselves as the main applicant under the St. Kitts CBI program.

Criteria for St. Kitts CBI Sibling Addition

For all new applications, siblings are now allowed to be added to the main applicant’s application. To be eligible, the siblings must meet the below criteria:

The sibling:

  • Must be the brother or sister of the main applicant or their spouse

  • Must not be married

  • Must not have children

  • Must be 30 years old or younger

  • Must be financially dependent on the main applicant

Additional Fees

Through the real estate option, the fee will be USD 40,000 per sibling. Through the Sustainable Growth Fund option (or Limited Time Offer) the fee will be USD 20,000 per sibling.

Dependent siblings will need to undergo background checks and due diligence as the existing regulations specify, of which fees will apply.

Checks

New applicants will need to present a sworn affidavit on behalf of their siblings as proof of financial dependency on the main applicant and the reason for this financial dependence. The CBI authorities will then carry out due diligence and background checks as required for all applications.

Limited-Time Offer

If you are interested in obtaining St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship, note that the program currently has an offer of a limited-time discount until the 31st of December 2020, available for families of up to four persons. The offer has decreased its investment amount from USD 195,000 to USD 150,000. Applicants who successfully acquire citizenship through this St. Kitts investment program, are then able to apply and obtain a St. Kitts passport within three months.

According to the HPI Global Passport Ranking 2020, the St. Kitts passport is the 25th most powerful passport in the world. It allows one to have visa-free travel or visa-on-arrival travel to almost 160 different territories and countries in the world, including the EU Schengen Zone and United Kingdom.
